Evangelicals and Art: Carousel

Today I am throwing up a Broadway classic that I think is one of the best musicals by Rogers and Hammerstein. The musical is called Carousel and debuted in 1945. Its about ill-fated romance, adversity, and hardship set in a small town on the coast of Maine. Time magazine, in 1999,  said Carousel is the best musical of the 20th century. Many of its songs have been recorded by pop artists, and one is the is the anthem of the Liverpool Football Club. My personal favorites are “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and “What is the Use of Wondering.” Both are haunting. As always I hope you have a good weekend. 🙂
