At Bryan Laughlin’s Remnant in Richmond, Virginia this Acts 29 church allegedly intervened in the case of a covenant member who wanted to be a police officer. This post looks at that angle. In addition I look at the issue of women in law enforcement even to include those who died in serving their community. Plus women have also played a valuable role in national security positions in the United States government. Remnant’s theology is bad and harmful and hopefully this will give some of the women something to contemplate. Continue reading
As we start 2018 a scene from the classic movie The Matrix is how the year will be kicked off. If you are attending Acts 29 Redeemer Arlington and looking for truth you will find it here. You have two options before you…the blue pill that will allow you to return to your Pollyanna view at Redeemer Arlington. Or the red pill which will reveal to you how deep the rabbit hole goes and the corruption and issues which exist at Redeemer. What will you choose? Continue reading

Looking at McLean Bible Thanksgiving Outreach which took place on November 18, 2017 at the Tysons Corner campus, and greater Washington, D.C. area. This is an overview of this unique ministry at McLean Bible and The Wondering Eagle has a question. After being theologically hijacked in 2017, and considering how Neo-Calvinists cannibalize a church will this be the final Thanksgiving Outreach for McLean Bible? Continue reading
This is an open letter to Fairfax Community Church’s (FCC) Community Life Pastor Kathleen Otchy. In this letter I just share that it is time that FCC have a special service and inform the congregation that Eric Nickle is on the Virginia Sex Offender registry. I also explain what Elmbrook church in Milwaukee lived through in regards to a child sex abuse scandal. Plus I share other thoughts about ongoing issues at FCC. Here in the Washington, D.C. area FCC is the theological equivalent to Mel Brooks Spaceballs Continue reading
Looking at the theological themes in Will Smith’s Collateral Beauty. This is a movie about loss, grief and death. However it is also a movie about how you can sometimes find beauty out of the pain. This post is a reminder that death is around you, many people are living a façade and asks the question what is your collateral beauty?
Today’s post is my response to C.J. Mahaney resuming preaching at T4G. This post is meant to mock Mahaney and its inspired by one of the greatest movies of satire that was made. When the Nazis put Charlie Chaplain on a death list in the 1930’s he responded by making a movie, “The Great Dictator” that mocked Adolf Hitler. This is an attempt to capitalize on the final scene of the movie and sneer C.J. Mahaney. I want to be crystal clear that I am not drawing any comparisons between Adolf Hitler and C.J. Mahaney. Today’s post is an attempt at parody.
On February 17, 2015 The Wondering Eagle had its first blog post. This blog was born out of an incident involving a Care Group Leader from Redeemer Arlington. A year later there are 206 posts and 65,000 people who have read. This is a birthday that needs to be celebrated. I also examine how this blog came to be, critical moments along the way in 2015, and what you can expect to see in 2016. To The Wondering Eagle…Happy Birthday! Continue reading
Some thoughts that came to me when I saw the movie Concussion. I see a lot of parallels between the NFL and the modern evangelical Christian church. There is a lot of corruption, and those dedicated to preservation of a system that is (spiritually) killing people. These are some thoughts that rolled through my mind in a dark theater that led to this post. Continue reading
My take on the movie Spotlight. Why the evangelical Christian church needs to see it and the lessons the church can glean from the movie. The chief lesson I believe is the following…you cannot conceal or hide illicit activity as it always comes to the surface eventually. My belief and my call that CJ Mahaney needs to be held accountable for all alleged child sex abuse cover up in the SGM/SGC denomination. Continue reading
