This is the final post for The Wondering Eagle for 2018. This article reviews the stories and situations covered in the year of 2018. From Acts 29, to the EFCA to the Sojourn Network, the atheist community and Harvest Bible Chapel. This is a wrap up of all the work this blog accomplished. Plus I discuss what is coming in 2019 as well.
In an interview recently Franklin Graham said that Donald Trump is a “defender of the Christian faith.” That received a lot of attention and a response from the atheist community. Shortly after that took place Newsweek had a cover story that examines the dying relationship between younger evangelicals and politics. Young evangelicals are walking away from the church in bulk because they are sick of the politics.
Alex Honnold has almost become a rock star in the climbing community. Hands down this post is about the best free style climber in the world today. In 2017 he achieved one of the most impressive feats, that of climbing El Capitan in Yosemite National Park free solo without a rope and harness. Alex is also an atheist who accepts that he is mortal and is talked about in the atheist community as well. Could there be some lessons about accepting your own death through Alex?

His topic was the Satanic panic in the 1970’s through 1990’s and evangelical Christians. It was a talk that looked at a number of issues from Dungeons & Dragons to rock music and more.
