Bryan Loritts, the disgraced pastor from Fellowship Memphis who was allegedly involved in the cover-up of Rick Trotter’s voyeurism and manufacturing of child pornography wrote a post that defended James MacDonald. Since both James MacDonald and Bryan Loritts have an alleged affinity for child pornography scandals this blog decided to analyze Loritts article. Continue reading
Fellowship Memphis celebrated its 16 anniversary. As John Bryson celebrates his church this blog wants to mark the occasion as well. Its especially important that it be remembered in light of the Rick Trotter voyeurism and child pornography scandal at a key Acts 29 church that engages in church planting in the United States. Acts 29 Fellowshiip Memphis turned 16 in November of 2019. John Bryson wrote a post about the occasion at the church’s main blog. This post is capturing that blog post and The Wondering Eagle is going to write a response to John Bryson in the next post. Continue reading
Can a church plant be the fruit of sin? Recently the New City Network of McLean Bible planted Mosaic City Church in a trendy and hopping area of Fairfax, Virginia. One of the partnering churches is Kenji Adachi’s All Peoples Community Church which was sponsored by Fellowship Memphis. Fellowship Memphis covered up the voyeurism and child pornography of its worship pastor Rick Trotter back in 2010 and it broke in 2016. Does the planting of churches that have connections to Fellowship Memphis reveal or show how the Southern Baptist Convention is struggling with sex abuse or sex crimes? These are questions that need to be asked.
Cornerstone Lodi is an Evangelical Free Church in Lodi, California. This church is actually using the Authentic Manhood program in its Men’s Accountability Group. This blog told the story of John Bryson and the voyeurism and child pornography scandal at Fellowship Memphis. I am still baffled why churches like Cornerstone would use the teachings of a man who played a role in covering up an abuse situation at an Acts 29 church in Tennessee. Continue reading
This is the final post for The Wondering Eagle for 2018. This article reviews the stories and situations covered in the year of 2018. From Acts 29, to the EFCA to the Sojourn Network, the atheist community and Harvest Bible Chapel. This is a wrap up of all the work this blog accomplished. Plus I discuss what is coming in 2019 as well.
Richard Rieves is back in the pulpit at Downtown Church in Memphis, Tennessee after being away on a sabbatical. Meanwhile this blog would like to know if Downtown Church is experiencing financial hardship? Downtown is pleading for money and I am wondering if the church is hurting from the Rick Trotter scandal. Plus Fellowship Associates, which John Bryson is tied to is planting Immanuel Fellowship in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is being done with the help of Bryan Lair’s Trinity City Church. This is deeply disturbing especially as I write that many evangelical churches need to be closed. There are many churches where criminal allegations have occurred, and if people cared about the Gospel they would walk away from them and shut them down. Continue reading
