This is the final post for The Wondering Eagle for 2018. This article reviews the stories and situations covered in the year of 2018. From Acts 29, to the EFCA to the Sojourn Network, the atheist community and Harvest Bible Chapel. This is a wrap up of all the work this blog accomplished. Plus I discuss what is coming in 2019 as well.
Richard Rieves is back in the pulpit at Downtown Church in Memphis, Tennessee after being away on a sabbatical. Meanwhile this blog would like to know if Downtown Church is experiencing financial hardship? Downtown is pleading for money and I am wondering if the church is hurting from the Rick Trotter scandal. Plus Fellowship Associates, which John Bryson is tied to is planting Immanuel Fellowship in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is being done with the help of Bryan Lair’s Trinity City Church. This is deeply disturbing especially as I write that many evangelical churches need to be closed. There are many churches where criminal allegations have occurred, and if people cared about the Gospel they would walk away from them and shut them down. Continue reading
On September 16, 2018 another Acts 29 church, that of Immanuel Fellowship will be launched in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Its done in conjunction of Fellowship Associates, which John Bryson of Fellowship Memphis is linked; and also Acts 29/EFCA’s Trinity City Church in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It is this blog’s belief that Trent Senske’s church needs to be aborted before its launch. Is a culture that led to the alleged cover up of child pornography and voyeurism in Fellowship Memphis in Tennessee being duplicated in Minneapolis? That is the issue The Wondering Eagle wrestles with today right before this weekend’s launch of Immanuel Fellowship. Continue reading
An open letter to Sam Jessup of The Bridge Fresno. This letter explains why The Bridge Fresno needs to close and why its a sin to attend, support and give money to this EFCA church. As The Bridge Fresno is not just having Bryan Loritts speak, but also scheduled to have Ricky Jenkins of the Fellowship Memphis scandal in Tennessee also speak later in July 2018. This is a church that needs to be closed. Continue reading
The Memphis Commercial Appeal writes more about the scandal of Rick Trotter and Fellowship Memphis. The newspaper asks if the Memphis Police mishandled the investigation. It can be possible, especially with some of the other issues that have occurred with Memphis Police Department. Also this post looks at another voyeurism situation that was eerily similar to Rick Trotter- that of Sammy Nuckolls. Finally as the Fellowship Memphis scandal drags on The Bridge Fresno in California is advertising, welcoming and promoting Bryan Loritts for speaking on July 8, 2018. Continue reading
Recently in the Memphis Commercial Appeal five victims of Rick Trotter from Downtown Church released a statement to Marc Perrusquia of the Memphis Commercial Appeal. That statement is preserved in this post. Continue reading
On a recent post a comment was left that I wanted to draw attention to. In the Rick Trotter situation at Downtown Church Richard Rieves was warned that he was bringing on a sexual predator. He was warned about what happened at Fellowship Memphis. Despite those warnings Richard Rieves justified his hiring of Rick Trotter. Richard Rieves is a man who should not be a pastor, in the opinion of The Wondering Eagle. He is a pastor who has failed to do the right thing and caused needless pain. Continue reading
