When Fundamentalism Comes to Steal, Kill and Destroy; Situations that Put Life in Perspective

Fundamentalism causes trauma and pain. All one has to do is look at a situation in Elverson, Pennsylvania; Memphis, Tennessee as well as a former Sovereign Grace Ministries church here in the D.C. area that I was unsuccessfully recruited. Fundamentalism destroys and tears people and lives apart. As Christians we need to confront and deal with this plague. Likewise when atheists point out the harm that religion can cause we need to admit that they are right especially in cases of spiritual abuse. The reality is that it shouldn’t take cancer or a medical crisis to put life in perspective. This post is inspired by someone I knew who had a massive stroke and brain bleed who passed away at 38. An Open Letter to Cru Director Steven Douglass (Regarding Criminal Allegations of Bryan Loritts’ Fellowship Memphis)

This is an open letter to Steven Douglass the President of Campus Crusade for Christ International and Cru locally. Its regarding one of their well known speakers and the incredibly serious allegations of the cover up of voyeurism, and the alleged destruction of child pornography in Bryan Loritts Fellowship Memphis. The negligence of the Fellowship Memphis leadership led to a large number of victims (conservative estimate I would say 1,500 over a three year period) at Downtown Church in Memphis. Also Heather Trotter is alleged to have used money that Fellowship Memphis gave her for cosmetic surgery instead of being responsible with it. This post also indicates what is coming down the pike at The Wondering Eagle in regards to this Acts 29 church. Continue reading

An Overview of Sandy Willson and Memphis Second Presbyterian Church; Plus When Individuals Like C.J., Carolyn Mahaney and Steve Estes are Promoted, Does that Help Transplant an Unhealthy Culture at Richard Rieves’ Church?

An overview of Memphis Second Presbyterian Church which is led by Senior Minister Sandy Willson. This looks at the Evangelical Presbyterian denomination and the excommunication of Dr. Nan Hawkes which made the front page of the Memphis  Commercial Appeal. Plus when people like C.J. Mahaney and Steve Estes are being promoted in a church that describes itself as “progressive” does that help explain why Rick Trotter was able to do alleged sexual crimes of voyeurism  in the restroom  of Downtown Church for three years? Is the corrupt DNA from Memphis Second Presbyterian Church transplanted to Richard Rieves Downtown Church.  Continue reading
