The EFCA One conference is being held in Chicago in June of 2019. One of the key speaker/teachers/trainers is Ed Stetzer. Yes that Ed Stetzer who doesn’t know what ethics is. The same Stetzer who accepted gifts from James MacDonald while writing about him for Christianity Today. The same Ed Stetzer that has tried to silence people from the Harvest Bible Chapel scandal. The Wondering Eagle wants to raise the question, why is the EFCA tone deaf to scandals in evangelicalism? Do they care about the Christian faith and the Gospel? Continue reading
The Wondering Eagle was blocked on Twitter by Mark Driscoll’s The Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. All it took was two hours. This post is a Twitter feed of how it happened. All I asked is when is Driscoll going to preach on oral sex at The Trinity Church like he did at Destiny Church Edinburgh in 2007. Continue reading
The Sojourn movement broke away from the Acts 29 movement when Mars Hill Seattle under Mark Driscoll was in the process of implosion. It started out of Sojourn Community Church in Louisville under the leadership of Daniel Montgomery and Mike Cosper. I would like to bring on a diverse set of people in time who would have freedom to publish what is on their mind. If you are interested please drop me a note and let’s figure out a way forward. The Evangelical Free District Superintendent for the Eastern District Eddie Cole writes a solid article for Christianity Today. The article is about sharing the Gospel with those who are young who do not think of death. This post looks at some of the issues in the modern evangelical church when it comes to death. After all I have attended three funerals in the time span of about a month. Continue reading
This is the analysis of the Texas and Oklahoma District of the Evangelical Free Church of America as its led by Bob Rowley. It has 65 churches in it, with the overwhelming number being in Texas. This post now brings me to also begin to write about this district.
A comment by Daniel Roueche at Nate Sparks Facebook page leads to this quick and brief post. Its an honest question about how sustainable is Neo-Calvinist application of theology in the end? What is its legacy for abuse, poor theology, and in the process creating a mini-Rome? I’ll let you guys discuss this below. Another post is going up later today. Continue reading
