From Mark Driscoll’s Mars Hill, to C.J. Mahaney’s Sovereign Grace to Jordan Kauflin’s Redeemer Arlington and an Air Force Captain I Knew, A Question that Must be Posed. Are Neo-Calvinists Modern Day Jonah’s in that All They Do is Flee?

There is one aspect to Neo-Calvinists that I have noticed. You can see this in the behavior of Mark Driscoll, C.J. Mahaney and an Air Force Captain from Jordan Kauflin’s Redeemer Arlington. All of them fled when they should have worked out their problems. All of them fled while believing in Biblical Manhood and in church discipline. All they left in their wake was pain, trauma and fractured lives. For the Neo-Calvinist this is also “sound doctrine.”  Continue reading

The Run Away Pastor: The Embattled C.J. Mahaney Withdraws from T4G a Second Time

For the second time in the history of T4G C.J. Mahaney withdraws from this national conference in Louisville, Kentucky. This post looks over his withdrawal in 2014 due to the SGM lawsuit and his withdrawal in 2018 due to Rachael Denhollander challenging Mahaney over the allegations of cover up of child sex abuse in SGM.  The fact that Mahaney keeps withdrawing shows how corrupt he is and why he should not be in ministry. In other words he is a fraud.  Continue reading

I am Morpheus. Do you want to Know Truth? Will you Choose the Blue or the Red Pill? Are you Prepared to Know How Deep the Rabbit Hole Goes?

As we start 2018 a scene from the classic movie The Matrix is how the year will be kicked off. If you are looking for truth you will find it here. You have two options before you…the blue pill that will allow you to return to your Pollyanna view of Evangelical Christianity. Or the red pill which will reveal to you how deep the rabbit hole goes and the corruption and issues which exist in Evangelical Christianity. What will you choose? Continue reading

The Wondering Eagle for 2017, The Year in Review, My Assessment and What is Coming in 2018

This is the final post at The Wondering Eagle for 2017. In a year filled with pain and loss I wrote 300 posts about the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), Neo-Calvinism, The Gospel Coalition, 9 Marks, Redeemer Arlington, and also atheism and secular humanism. This is an overview of the top posts and my personal favorites. Also I discuss what is coming in 2018. In January The Wondering Eagle is going to look at a dark Acts 29 situation in the United States. Continue reading

With how Jonathan Leeman Writes about Biblical Conversion the Question Must be Asked, Does the Editor from 9 Marks Believe C.J. Mahaney Is a Christian?

One of the most read articles at the 9 Marks website deals with churches who do church discipline wrong. One point in Jonathan Leeman’s article led to a question at The Wondering Eagle. With how the 9 Marks editor describes Biblical conversion the question must be asked, is C.J. Mahaney a Christian? Especially in light of how he has continually fled? Also will a 9 Marks pastor like Garrett Kell or Mark Dever ever face church discipline? Finally how my unresolved conflict with Eric Simmons and Jordan Kauflin’s Redeemer Arlington shows that 9 Marks is a total failure and to be rejected.  Continue reading

The Season of my Discontent: When the Evangelical Christians are Wrong, the Atheists are Correct, and the Neo-Calvinists Surprise Me; A Reflection on the Neo-Nazi Rally in my Home State of Virginia

A quick post that is a response to the Nazi rally that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia. Its time to speak up and condemn Nazism which has no place in the United States. Not now, and not ever. We didn’t fight Nazism in Europe in World War II only to have it spring up in the United States. The resurgence in the alt-right which Donald Trump exploited needs to be condemned. This is about the season of my discontent when regular evangelicals are wrong, and the atheists and Neo-Calvinists are correct.  Continue reading

Redeeming Grace Church’s Kenneth Maresco’s Selective Memory

This is a look at a recent post by Kenneth Maresco at Redeeming Grace Church on showing compassion, mourning with others and caring. This post asks the question did Kenneth Maresco care about those who were abused at either SGM Fairfax or Covenant Life? Does he show empathy, deep concern and a desire to walk with those who were hurt under the leadership or Mark Mullery or other individuals? In the spirit of John Piper Kenneth’s blog post at Redeeming Grace Church is a wasted blog post.  Continue reading
