Cornerstone Lodi is Using the Authentic Manhood Series in their Men’s Accountability Group. Have they Heard of the Fellowship Memphis Scandal?

Cornerstone Lodi is an Evangelical Free Church in Lodi, California. This church is actually using the Authentic Manhood program in its Men’s Accountability Group. This blog told the story of John Bryson and the voyeurism and child pornography scandal at Fellowship Memphis. I am still baffled why churches like Cornerstone would use the teachings of a man who played a role in covering up an abuse situation at an Acts 29 church in Tennessee. Continue reading

When the EFCA is Tone Deaf to Evangelical Scandals. Why is Ed Stetzer Speaking at EFCA One in Chicago?

The EFCA One conference is being held in Chicago in June of 2019. One of the key speaker/teachers/trainers is Ed Stetzer. Yes that Ed Stetzer who doesn’t know what ethics is. The same Stetzer who accepted gifts from James MacDonald while writing about him for Christianity Today. The same Ed Stetzer that has tried to silence people from the Harvest Bible Chapel scandal. The Wondering Eagle wants to raise the question, why is the EFCA tone deaf to scandals in evangelicalism? Do they care about the Christian faith and the Gospel?  Continue reading

John Park of Ambassador Bible Church Preaches on Love. When Will Someone Tell this EFCA Pastor that Love is Largely Absent from Evangelicalism?

On March 31, 2019 John Park an EFCA Pastor at Ambassador Bible Church in Chantilly, Virginia preached about how Christians should love. While it was a good talk in contrast to greater evangelicalism it was a failure. Many evangelicals do not know what love is. This post looks at John’s sermon and analyzes the issues with it.  Continue reading

The Importance of Consistency When it Comes to Sexual Abuse

A brief blog post on the importance of being consistent when it comes to discussing sexual abuse. There are many evangelicals and those in general who find ways to excuse abuse because they desire something that the abuser can give. The only way we can deal with this topic of sexual abuse is to be honest, admit our biases and be consistent. If we play favorites then all the writing being done is wasted in the end.  Continue reading

A Response to Acts 29 Bill Riedel and Shaun Cross on When Church Planting Harms a City

A post at The Gospel Coalition by Acts 29 Bill Riedel and Shaun Cross brings about this article. The pastors from Redemption Hill D.C. and Union Church explore gentrification but then ignore the fact that Redeemer Arlington has done that very thing. Its spiritually gentrified not just Arlington but the greater Washington, D.C. area. This blog is proof of that as it was started out of an incident of spiritual abuse that came from a person in leadership in Redeemer Arlington  Continue reading

Advice for The Well Community Church in Fresno, California as they Want to Reset

Recently The Well Community Church in Fresno, California did a sermon that explained how they want to reset. The purpose of this post is to teach The Well lessons that I have learned in writing about the EFCA, Neo-Calvinism and scandal across the United States. If The Well incorporates some of these ideas they will become healthier and better in the long course of time.

Not All Churches are That Bad. The Cognitive Dissonance of Tim Allchin and a Response to a Blog Post at the Website of Biblical Counseling Center

Tom Allchin wrote an article for the Biblical Counseling Center saying that not all churches are that bad. Tim, who used to come from Harvest Bible Chapel Naperville (Today Highpoint) reveals in the article that he just doesn’t get it. I guess living in the bubble will do that to you. This article offers a response and says that it is much worse than Tim will admit. When you consider the Harvest Bible Chapel fiasco, combined with Sovereign Grace Ministries and Acts 29 issues the evangelical church is in a state of crisis and deeply corrupt. Perhaps its hard for someone like Tim who draws a paycheck from the evangelical industrial complex to actually admit this issue.
