Baptist News Global has a stunning article from Mark Wingfield about evangelicals and persecution. A number of evangelical leaders are angry that the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago. They feel that Trump is being targeted and that they are going to be persecuted next. I could not believe this article which I read. Why are evangelicals so caught up in persecution?
“In politics, as in religion, it is equally absurd to aim at making proselytes by fire and sword. Heresies in either can rarely be cured by persecution.”
For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.
Romans 14:8 ESV
Words fail me with this one. Words just really fail me. I was eating dinner and cleaning through my email and responding when I saw this article from Mark Wingfield of Baptist News Global. The other day I wrote about Franklin Graham which you can read in, “Franklin Graham is Upset About the FBI Search at Mar-a-Lago, Warns the United States is Becoming Like Cuba and Exhibits Intense Paranoia.” Well The Baptist News Global article talks about the response to the FBI search at Mar-a-Lago from a number of evangelical leaders. They are concerned that Trump is being targeted and they they are going to be persecuted next. Their paranoia is one that the federal government is just outside their door waiting to pounce. The article mentions Franklin Graham but also speaks of other evangelicals. My jaw was on the floor of the Chipotle as I read this article. All I have to say is evangelicals I just do not understand you. You can read this article in, “Some evangelical leaders see FBI visit to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago as evidence of the religious persecution coming to them.”
