A shocking op-ed was published in the Religion News Service by Kyle Howard. The column looks at the trend by some evangelical leaders to sympathize with Ravi Zacharias over the victims in this dark scandal. This blog is pushing people to read this article.
“The greater the power, the more dangerous the abuse.“
Edmund Burke
for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
Recently a disturbing article was published in the Religion News Service that really gives one pause. It deals with how some evangelicals are responding to the Ravi Zacharias scandal and the tendency by some evangelical leaders to downplay the behavior of Zacharias scandal and empathize with Zacharias instead of the victims. Plus some pastors are saying, “There before the grace of God goes I…” Really? Like the average evangelical pastor could rape a woman? As if the average evangelical pastor could buy property in Thailand and travel to the sex tourist capitol of the world? When this blog read the article I first picked up my jaw off the ground. This blog is going to encourage you to read, “Ministry leaders’ rush to empathize with Ravi Zacharias is beyond alarming.”
I’m just glad my old boss didn’t have to see this. He was a fan of Zacharias.
