As California Closes Due to Pandemic Brad Bell of The Well Community Church in The Fresno/Clovis Area Will Still Hold Indoor Services Believing, “Well you’re going to catch COVID-19 eventually anyway…”

California is closing again due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fresno County has been moved to the purple tier and churches can not meet inside. Despite those guidelines from Sacramento Brad Bell of The Well Community Church in the Fresno/Clovis area has decided to hold indoor services and telling a reporter that we’re all going to get COVID-19 eventually anyway.

“Greed is the inventor of injustice as well as the current enforcer.”

Julian Casablancas

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

Psalm 95:1-2 ESV

COVID-19

Is Brad Bell of The Well Community Church becoming the Kenneth Copeland of the San Joaquin Valley?

Yesterday I saw something that stunned me and its leading to this post this evening. Today we are going to look at a church that is very popular in Central California in the Fresno and Clovis area. The Well Community Church was started by Brad Bell who used to play football at Fresno State. This blog has written about The Well before. To read more you can go to, “Mike Slayden From The Well Community Church Fresno Preaches on Reconciliation. A Look at this Sermon.” In that post you can find an overview of the history of The Well and Brad Bell as a pastor. Then I also wrote “Advice for The Well Community Church in Fresno, California as they Want to Reset.”

The COVID-19 Pandemic in California Gets Worse

The COVID-19 pandemic is getting worse in California. On November 16, 2020 Governor Gavin Newsom pulled the brakes on the re-opening due to massive spike in the coronavirus. Broad restrictions are being re-imposed. The prior ten days in California COVID-19 cases numbers doubled. This has been the fastest growth in California since the pandemic began. On November 12, California topped over one million COVID-19 infections. Keep in mind that California has 39.5 million inhabitants. In the color coded chart that the government in Sacramento uses purple is the most restrictive. In a purple tier indoor gatherings are restricted with mostly prohibited. Indoor operations are largely closed and severely limited.  40 or California’s 58 counties moved into purple which is restricted. To read an update of COVID-19 in California I would recommend this New York Times article that I leaned upon for this post. Also you can read more here and here

Brad Bell Says The Well Community Church Will Stay Open Despite Sacramento Saying Churches in Purple Tier Must Close or Move Outside

This post came about when I was checking ABC 30’s Twitter feed for Corin Hoggard. This blog wishes Corin well as he recover from surgery in removing a tumor from his pancreas. Corin interacted with Brad Bell and published the information in the following tweet.

Despite what the California state government is saying The Well Community Church is starting indoor services. That is in addition to outdoor and online worship services. Brad Bell told ABC’s investigative news reporter Corin Hoggard the following. “You can’t hide from it. You’re gonna get it eventually. We could all lock ourselves in a bunker for 6 months and when we come out we’ll all get it.” Earlier this week The Well released this following video which you can watch.

Watch video!

On The Well’s webpage they also say this about meeting again. “While we are taking considerable safety precautions, our Elders believe caring for your spiritual health is the best way we can serve you and your family. In doing so, we are not retreating from any in-person gathering. As we continue to proclaim the gospel indoors, outdoors, and online, we invite you to worship with us at one of the following gatherings.”

Its About Greed and Making Money Which is What The Well Community Church has Become

So much for the often quoted Romans 13 about submitting to the governing authorities. The action of Brad Bell really shows the ignorance and how he is harmful as a pastor. I find it hard to believe that he could say what he said to ABC’s investigative journalist. This blogger knows 11 people who have dealt with COVID-19 and five who have died. Those who died really didn’t have to die as they had a lot of life left. For me it raises the question why would Brad Bell act this way and expose people to risk? What type of pastor exposes people to a wolf? Why be insensitive to a disease that is a once in a lifetime pandemic and why take action that causes people harm? For me this explains why Brad Bell should not be a pastor and how The Well is a racket. In the end its about making money as evangelicalism is a business. That is what is happening in this instance. Financial decisions are driving safety decisions which is disturbing.  Brad needs money…pandemic be damned he needs to support his lifestyle. So if you attend The Well make sure you pass off your inheritance to him. Arrange to transfer that investment property or the remains of that 401K to The Well because your pastor needs it! Make sure you do so before you are incubated at St. Agnes or Clovis Community Hospital for COVID-19. I am confident that Brad Bell would be willing to wait by your bedside to grab the financial documentation from you. Again, seriously, this is troubling that a pastor can be this ignorant. This blog is looking for more stories about The Well Community Church. If anyone has any stories or information regarding their counseling program, church discipline, financial misconduct or other issues please contact this blog and let’s start to work on exposing them.
