Salon magazine published an article about how Evangelical Fundamentalists are dying because of the COVID-19 virus. Their rejection of social distancing is leading to a higher loss of life that can be avoided. The article is published in this post.
“We live in the era of smart phones and stupid people.”
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,”[a] and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

The other day I wrote an article that looked at how the COVID-19 pandemic was going to be problematic for evangelicals because many reject science. You can read that article in, “The COVID-19 Pandemic is Revealing Why Its Dangerous for Evangelicals to Reject Science.” Since I published that article I became aware of another article that was written by Salon magazine. The article at Salon looks at how evangelical fundamentalist are dying at a higher rate. Why? Many have defied social distancing and called the virus a hoax. For me this is incredibly sad and a major issue. As the pandemic moves around the country and has differing waves expect to see evangelicals and fundamentalists be hit by a high rate. If you want to read the article you can do so in, “Evangelical fundamentalists who openly defied social distancing guidelines are dying of COVID-19.” What people need to understand is that this virus kills and doesn’t who care you are. It doesn’t matter if you are Baptist or Pentecostal. Urban or rural. Rich or poor. White or black. It kills anyone who does not respect it. You practice social distancing not for yourself but your neighbor. That needs to be remembered. The tragedy of all this is that people are keeping this churches open because they are a business and these pastors who act like parasites need money. In the end it usually always boils down to money.
