At The Gospel Coalition Joni Erickson Tada writes about her diving accident. In the article she writes of her friendship with Steve Estes. Since this blog wrote heavily on the Community Evangelical Free Church scandal this article is one that had to be added to the blog.
“The greatest gift of life is friendship, and I have received it.”
13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, I gain nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 ESV

In scanning The Gospel Coalition the other day I noticed an article the Joni Erickson Tada wrote that I wanted to add to this blog. While this article was written last year it was being pushed again by The Gospel Coalition. Given all that has been written about Steve Estes and Community Evangelical Free Church this was something that I wanted to add to the blog’s archives. Joni Erickson Tada in an article on the anniversary of her diving accident reflects on her friendship with Steve Estes. When this blog wrote about how Steve Estes practiced church discipline on his former daughter-in-law that her son allegedly raped and abused, this blog contacted Joni Erickson Tada for a statement. Tada didn’t believe the question that was asked. If you want to read more about Joni Erickson Tada and Steve Estes you can do so in, “Reflections on the 50th Anniversary of My Diving Accident.”
