Over at The Friendly Atheist today it was learned that an atheist group in Southern California that is walking to raise funds to end Alzheimer’s disease. I just wanted to draw attention to this effort as this blog as that is a noble cause.

At The Friendly Atheist today they had an article that I wanted to push here at this blog. There are many misconceptions about atheists that exist in society. Those claims include that atheists don’t care, that they are immoral, that they can’t contribute to society, etc… Atheists face a lot of discrimination in our society today and this blog remains concerned about that aspect. A while back I wrote about an atheist group in Texas that did work for the homeless and Christians became enraged. You can read about that in, “An Atheist Group in Southeast Texas Takes Care of the Homeless, and in the Process Teaches Why you do not Need God to do Good.”

At the Friendly Atheist they published a story about an atheist group in Southern California that formed a group to walk in an effort to end Alzheimer’s disease. This is taking place in Santa Clarita. This blog was impressed with seeing that and I want to encourage those out there who are interested to donate and to support their efforts. This is something that everyone should rally around. You can read more about their efforts in, “Southern California Atheist Group Raising Funds To End Alzheimer’s Disease.”
