A challenging and humorous response to Kathy MacDonald on Instagram produces this brief post. This post came from a former member of Harvest Bible Chapel who recently walked away.
“I’ve never felt any of us had significant influence,” “For something to be funny, the audience has to be in a position to sense the truth of it. It has to be primed. Satire can crystallize what’s already in the air, but it can’t really put it there.”
“Good satire goes beyond the specific point it’s trying to make and teaches you how to think critically. Even after your favorite cartoonist retires or [Stephen] Colbert wraps it up, you’re not left believing everything they’re telling you.”
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by[f] him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
Colossians 1:15-16 ESV
As people are walking away from Harvest Bible Chapel many former members are sharing information and stories. Someone who recently left Harvest sent me the following screen shots of Kathy MacDonald’s Instagram account. Its quite amusing and it deserves to be shared with the growing former Harvest community. In the top picture you see what Kathy posted. In the second one you can see what someone left Kathy. If Kathy and James MacDonald want to learn about being “Godly” perhaps they should approach John Secrest down in Naples. Perhaps the MacDonalds will learn a thing or two on James “sabbatical”.
