For the next 10 days I will be in Missouri and Kansas spending time with my Dad and family. My Dad has long wanted to see the University of Missouri Columbia which he used to work at years ago. This is a trip I am doing for my Dad in light of my Mom’s death and my Dad’s health challenges.
“In Missouri, where I come from, we don’t talk about what we do – we just do it. If we talk about it, it’s seen as bragging.”
“In my mind, I’m still this kid from St. Louis, Missouri, that nobody really knows.”

Tonight I am flying out to Kansas City, Missouri to spend time with my family. This has been a hard year and a half with my Mom’s death. My Dad has dealt with a brain tumor off and on for the last 6 years. It grew again in the last MRI scan at Stanford. My Dad used to work at the University of Missouri at Columbia from 1969 until 1972. He has always wanted to go back and see the campus and see the community of Columbia, Missouri. So in light of his brain tumor I am putting life on pause to take him back to Missouri. I will be meeting my sister who is also helping in all this as well. So for the next 10 days I will check out from this blog. I am going to spend time with my Dad and sister. Writing will not be on my mind at all, as I want to just hang out and spend time with the family. What I have done is pre-write a number of posts that I have programmed to launch. So even while I won’t be involved there are a number of posts that deal with the EFCA, religion, and atheism that will be published. I planned this in advance. So I will see you in about 10 days! Take care and know you are loved!
