Atlantic magazine has an article that looks at white evangelical Christian culture and its decline. The article by Robert Jones helps examine the shifting culture and it helps one understand the evangelical culture wars.
“Culture is a way of coping with the world by defining it in detail.”
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
Matthew 4:8 NKJV

An article in the Atlantic helps put the current evangelical culture wars in perspective. Robert Jones writes that the embrace of Donald Trump by white evangelical Christians is their last, dying grasp to try and keep the United States “Christian” as many evangelicals define it. What is being witnessed is the death rattle of white evangelical Christian culture. Though this came out a few months back I still find this article relevant to the discussion today. This is a thought provoking article that helps put the current situation in perspective. You can read this article in The Atlantic, and it is called “Trump Can’t Reverse the Decline of White Christian America.”
