Recommended Read: Valerie Tarico in Raw Story on Why Evangelicals in the United States Think they are Persecuted

A recommended read by Valerie Tarico that looks at why conservative evangelicals in the United States believe they are being persecuted. Valerie who writes a lot of atheist pieces compares what evangelical Christians in the United States are going through and compares that with Christians in places like Syria or elsewhere. In the process Valerie raises other problems with the evangelical mindset.

“Religious persecution may shield itself under the guise of a mistaken and over-zealous piety.”

Edmund Burke

Saturday Night Live parody on evangelical Christian persecution

I read this the other day on social media and I wanted to draw attention to this post by Valerie Tarico. Valerie Tarico is an atheist blogger who writes frequently about atheist issues and Christian de-conversion. In Raw Story Valerie wrote a solid piece that looks at why evangelical Christians think they are being persecuted in the United States. In the article Valerie points out that many evangelicals lack empathy and that a persecution complex in the United States falls far short of what many Christians in places like Syria, Egypt and more are experiencing. This has a lot to think about as well. You can read more in “Here’s why right-wing Christians think they are America’s most persecuted.” That’s it guys, please take care.
