The Religious Newswriters Association Conference in Silver Spring in September 2016 and Pam Palmer on a Women and Religion Panel

A brief post featuring the Religious Newswriters Association conference which will be held in the Washington, D.C. area in September 2016. The conference will be in Silver Spring, Maryland. Pam Palmer is one of the people participating if you want to go and hear her speak.

“Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.”

John F. Kennedy

“Palmer was a homeschooling mom in an evangelical church empire. When her toddler daughter was raped by a young church member, Palmer took on the men who ran Sovereign Grace Ministries.”

How Pam Palmer is described on the RNA website

Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the Lord.

Psalm 31:24 NKJV

The Religious Newswriters Association is going to hold their annual conference in Silver Spring, Maryland from September 22, 2016 until September 24. This conference is held by the Religion News Association whose goal is to train and help people write about religion in the media. The intent of the organization is to help people cover religion with balance, accuracy and insight. You can see the schedule here and read about the conference here.

On Saturday morning at 9:00 September 24, Pam Palmer will be on a panel called “Women and Religion: When Faith and Feminism Collide.” You can read the brief bio on Pam here. As the public face of the SGM lawsuit I imagine that Pam is going to be speaking about the problems of child sex abuse and other issues in Sovereign Grace.  I just want to let people know that this event is happening in two months, and I have one quick thing to say to Pam. In the 1948 Presidential contest between Harry Truman and New York Governor Thomas Dewey, Truman gave a blistering attack on Republicans in a campaign stop in Bremerton, Washington. Someone in the crowd yelled at Truman, “Give em’ Hell Harry!” In response Truman stopped and said, “I don’t give them Hell. I tell them the truth and they think it’s Hell.” So all I will say is “Give em hell Pam!” 🙂

  1. “I don’t give them Hell. I tell them the truth and they think it’s Hell.”

Isn’t that one of the EO theories of the nature of Hell?
They are exposed to the full-strength Presence of God, the Ultimate Truth, but they have made themselves so twisted that to them Truth is a torment?
