Today I want to throw up some Broadway. This one is for the Italians out there! Nine is a musical written by Maury Yeston. Its based on Federico Fellini’s semi-autobiographical file 8 and a half. Its about Guidi Contini, a film director facing his 40th birthday and a midlife crisis. Raul Julia originated the role on Broadway I think. This musical is a gem and the orchestrations are great! I’ve included stuff from both the Broadway soundtrack, London concert version in 1992 and the movie. I’m not a huge fan on movie musicals, the original casts are better. That said I think the movie version of Nine is neat. Enjoy the weekend!
