Mame is a classic on Broadway. Its based off a 1955 novel called Auntie Mame. The music and lyrics are by Jerry Herman. Auntie Mame’s theme is “Life is a banquet and most poor sons of bitches are starving to death.” Mame opened on Broadway in 1966 and starred Angela Lansbury.
